Foodcare Morning Tea

On 5th December, The Tree Team (our Farmers Market Co-curricular Team), ventured to Glenroi Community Centre to provide morning tea for Orange Foodcare (https://www.foodcareorange.org.au). The students learned about how the shop works and what benefit it provides to the community. They were taught about the points system that operates in the shop and what donations they receive from local businesses.

The students are keen to support Foodcare as part of their business and so they sat with the representatives to best understand what they could do to help. They decided on ‘dinner in a box’, using their vegetables and eggs, together with a recipe card would be best. The idea is for the students to take a pilot run of these down to Foodcare in the coming weeks to test how they are received.

Additionally, the students provided a fabulous Christmas morning tea consisting of homemade shortbread, mince pies and their homemade/grown Christmas ham. It was smiles all round and a very worthwhile experience.
