As part of the TREE project Kinross Wolaroi School has been chosen as one of the 30 schools to compete in the Archibull 2018. The Archibull competition (http://archibullprize.com.au) requires students to investigate an agricultural industry in the following areas:
- Climate Change
- Healthy Communities
- Food Security
- Job Opportunities
Kinross has been given the wool industry, which is great given the number of sheep farmers who currently or have previously sent their students to the school.
The students must design a visually engaging display showcasing what they have learnt using their Archie (life sized fibre glass cow), blog about their journey (first post up – https://kwsarchibull2018.weebly.com), have a visit from a Young Farmer Champion and make an infographic about the wool industry.
The archie design will be undertaken in art and design and technology, with other subjects working collaboratively to showcase the other areas listed above.
As you can see from below, archie has enjoyed settling into life at KWS. He even had a visit from the local press!
